Skirting the Issue: Outfitting our Youth for Excellence is a clothing drive that will benefit CASA youth – children and teens who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect and are currently in foster care. Often times, when children are removed from their homes, they leave with only the clothes on their back or just a few pieces of extra clothing. Through Skirting the Issue, Voices For Children hopes to provide these children and teens with new and necessary clothing items such as skirts, jeans, dresses, t-shirts, shorts and shoes.

Community members and organizations are asked to purchase and donate one complete outfit (i.e. shirt, jeans and shoes) for a school-aged CASA youth. Collection boxes will be located at Old Navy and Shoe Carnival in College Station. A collection event will be held at the Voices for Children office from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., August 3rd, as part of the August Downtown Bryan First Friday event.

Our Goal: 100 Outfits for 100 School-Aged CASA Youth

Timeline: July 3, 2012 – August 3, 2012
